Alchemist’s Brew (Ha-Ha)
Tea time begins with spirit! Add a shot of Vic Gin to your floral herbal brew or to your earl (or lady) grey tea. We especially love Vic Gin with Silk Road’s Alchemist’s Brew. Hot and cold.
makes 1 litre
2 tbsp Silk Road’s Alchemist’s Brew tea
3 cups boiling water
1 cup Vic Gin
3 tsp honey
juice of 1/2 lime
Bring 3 cups water to a full rolling boil. Pour over Alchemist’s Brew tea. Steep for 10 min and then strain over honey.
Cold option: Refrigerate until cold. Combine chilled tea with chilled gin, and fresh squeezed lime. Shake over ice so you’re serving it well chilled.
Hot option: Add gin and fresh squeezed lime juice.
Direct infusion
Or infuse the tea directly in Gin for 20 minutes.
Try Silk Road’s spicy mandarin (black tea with spices and lots of citrus ), earl green (earl grey green tea) or canton orange (an earl grey black tea).
Use 6 tbsp. of dry tea leaves for every 2 cups of Gin. Wait 20 min, then strain the tea leaves out. Try adding about 1 tbsp of fresh mandarin juice per glass.
