Victoria Gin takes a Silver medal at the Los Angeles Wine & Spirits Competition. It’s the first time we’ve entered this comp — we’re thrilled.

But LA, why no Golds for Gin and no ‘Best Gin’ category?! As noted recently by Beppi Crosariol and Adam MacDowell, Gin is back and where it’s at!

Eat Magazine has just published its 1st Annual Exceptional Eats! Awards. Chosen by Eat readers in Victoria and Vancouver Island, the awards highlight the best of local food and drink.

We are delighted that Vic Gin took Gold for being the “local beverage (Victoria) loves to introduce to friends and visitors”. Aw, Victoria, we love you too!

Way back in 2009, our Master Distiller (brother/son/hero) Peter Hunt was included in Western Living’s Top Foodies under 40. As such, he is part of

the new generation of passionate chefs, restaurateurs, food producers, wine and spirits experts and activists who are helping to define and change the way we eat in Western Canada today. [Not to mention] the first master gin distiller in the West since the 1930s.

Albeit exceedingly belated, congrats all the same, Peter. xoxo

Award for Vic Gin

Distiller Peter Hunt was in San Francisco a couple months back, where he picked up a silver medal from the SF World Spirits Competition.

This is the first major competition that we’ve entered, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the result. The San Francisco World Spirits Competition is almost a decade old, and this year over 450 distillers and importers entered spirits from 21 countries. The spirits were judged in blind tastings by a panel that included mixologists, writers, spirits masters, and other luminaries from the beverage industry.

Congrats Peter, and we know this will be one of many accolades for Vic Gin as the word gets out!
