“Make it a double”… medal performance
Vancouver has gone Olympic crazy! No matter your feelings about this Olympic business, there’s reason to celebrate the cocktails it has inspired.
As well as the commemorative mixes we’ve noted already at the Four Season’s Yew Restaurant and the Chateau Fairmont in Whistler, Vancouver’s Granville Room is serving up “The Gold, Silver and Greene”.

As noted in Scout Magazine, the cocktail melds Victoria Gin, Barnston Island basil, simple syrup, grapefruit juice and orange-flower water. The drink was created by Trevor Kallies and inspired by Nancy Greene’s 1968 double medal performance in Grenoble.
We might try to freestyle this one… at least until the cocktail is officially launched on Jan 1.
